Upcoming Updates By eaballer10 Published: April 3, 2008

Hey All. It's been a long while since anyone has seen an update here, huh? Well, I'm going to start updating all the Kekkaishi files once again since it seems that the Kekkaishi fan base is finally expanding. Anyways, there is a lot to upload, and maybe even a little bit of redesigning to make getting the files easier and to give this site a fresh look once again. Oh, and here are some quick Questions and Answers: Q1) Where is Volume 10 at? A) Believe it or not, but Volume 10 has NOT be completely scanlated! Actually, "Volume 10 has not been completely translated" would be the better response. I think there is an one or two chapter gap in this volume, and therefore I didn't upload the 'Full Volume.' However, if I get a translation out of somebody, I'll gladly scanlate them in no time. Q2) What is to be included and/or expected of these updates to come? A) That's simple really; everything. All chapters, scanlated, up to current times (which at this moment is 144 by Franky-House), all the latest tankoubans, and of course, all the latest RAWs. Q3) Hmm.. like when? A) Uhhh.. how about this weekend sometime? That should work.
However, I'm a busy guy so it's hard to keep up things a lot of the time. So if anyone is interested in helping keeping this site up-to-date, then just leave a comment, or PM me at the forums. That's all for now :p

Kekkaishi volume 11 release! By Belle Published: December 7, 2007

All right, I know this is long overdue, but Urakai-Scans is proud to present the entirity of Kekkaishi volume 11 for your reading pleasure. We were hoping to release this a few weeks back, and to our credit, we did have it near 100% done. But that is neither here nor there and we hope you enjoy the volume despite the tardiness. This release was very much a group effort. Everyone contributed to this momentous project. (And believe me, it took a loooong time to get this ready for release.) I think we put enough time in to watch the first season of Heros and Avatar: The Last Airbender by now. We all proofread, cleaned, translated, QCed, everything--numerous times. As such, I think all of the staff who contributed need to be thanked personally. Firstly, we need to thank Angel from Yoroshiku-Fansubs--a group who provides excellent, high-quality Japanese fansubs of Kekkaishi and other series, such as Shonen Omyouji. Check them out when you have the time, and be sure to say thanks! Why? Because Angel actually took the time to translate volume 11 for us. So big kudos there. Secondly, I need to thank the ever-elusive Eaballer for allowing us to use his l33t cleaning skillz even though he's terribly busy. With finals coming up, I don't blame him. I myself want to go and hide under a rock untiil its all over. EA also consented to redrawing many of the cover pages for you guys' enjoyment. He really has an awesome talent there. I have no idea how much time it took him to do that, but his redraws are, quite frankly, amazing. Thanks, EA. Thirdly, a big round of applause for Silver_Sea, or head Chinese translator and he1, ad of the Gintama division. Even if she hadn't helped out with volume 11 (which she did, in a big way) she would still deserve thanks for keeping the other staff in line, getting things organized, and generally being our self-appointed manager when it comes to this -er- hobby. She's level-headed, strong when need be, but never annoying or pushy. Not to mention she took on the gigantic task of QCing volume 11, pinpointing all of the errors that lay within the first typeset draft. From typos that had suddenly decided to run amok, from sentence wordiness that ran wild, to un-diamond shaped bubbles--she spotted them all. Last, but not least is Sir Laugh-Out-Loud-A-Lot (aka Sai the Shaman) deserves to be given a hearty pat on the back, too. Not just for being our head Japanese translator, but because he was always willing to re-translate awkward lines as well as pages and bubbles in the original script that were accidentally left blank. And that's it. I know we're probably going slower than people would like, but even so, we are still dedicated to all our projects, and want you to get the best release possible. Forum-wise, look for many more changes and updates as time goes on and Christmas approuches. Maybe even look forward to a new Manga if I can bother myself to get it done. Look out for more Gintama and Kekkaishi, too! Now excuse me, but bed is calling. Ah I'm sure there's only a thousand typos in this news post. Ah, volume 11 isn't on IRC yet, but it will be.
